Lake of the Ozarks
Lake of the Ozarks is a man made lake that has more shore line than the state of California.  Its main channel is 92 miles long, but most of the action is from Mile Marker 1 (dam) to Mile Marker 30.  According to the coast guard, its also one of he busiest and most dangerous lakes in the USA.  However, the risk is well worth the reward!  Area attractions offer an endless list of things to do and see for the entire family. Raked in the top 5 "Best lakes for Power Boat owners", Lake of the Ozarks is home to many of the best poker runs and boating events in the USA.  Million dollar homes of movie stars, professional athletes and business men line the shores.  This is a big water lake, so make sure you have a boat to handle it!  Lake of the Ozarks has over 60 restaurants and bars on the water and arguably the best Party Cove in the world. This is why we think Lake of the Ozarks is one of the best lakes in USA!

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. -- The Water Patrol is targeting the party places. Officers stopped 105 boats in a sobriety checkpoint at the mouth of Party Cove on Saturday afternoon arresting seven operators for boating while intoxicated.

"I think this shows boaters are doing the right thing," District II Commander Matt Walz said. "We are seeing more designated captains."

While the most desirable result would be to make zero arrests in a checkpoint at an alcohol-soaked location like Party Cove, only having 7 percent of operators drunk at the helm does show an encouraging trend.

On June 26, officers arrested nine captains for BWI out of 71 boats stopped -- or 13 percent drunk -- at the 10-mile marker, near the mouth of Lynch Hollow Cove, the home of Franky & Louie's.

The combined statistics of the two sobriety checkpoints held so far in 2009 indicate an average of 9 percent of operators legally drunk at the helm.

In the summer of 2008, the Water Patrol arrested 13 captains of 202 boats stopped during sobriety checkpoints -- an average of six percent. Last year the checkpoints were held on the Grand Glaize Arm, near Toad Cove and at the 1MM of the Gravois Arm

Since the checkpoints held in 2008, the legally acceptable blood alcohol level has changed from below .10 to .08.

Heaven on Earth? We Think So!

You won't find it on any of the lake maps at the gas station, the chamber of commerce sure wont tell you where it’s at, but finding Party Cove is no problem.  Around noon on any summer Saturday, just follow any boat overloaded with girls in string bikinis, a rented pontoon boat full of college guys or even a million dollar yacht.  Just about everyone's headed to what Playboy TV said is the oldest established permanent floating sexually charged party in the country, Party Cove at Lake of the Ozarks.

Party Cove, the one located in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri is one of the wildest adventure spots in the United States. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, every weekend is a once in life time experience. Party Cove is located in a national park area, officially known as Anderson Cove. This surreal environment starts with a backdrop of natural beauty, combined with hundreds of custom boats and lots of scantily claded and topless girls. Sit back, drink your poison of choice and enjoy what makes America great!  In fact, you might simply call it heaven on earth, we do!

There is a Party Cove on every large body of water in the country, and many claim to have similar gatherings like Lake Havasu on the Nevada-Arizona border and Lake Travis in Texas.  However, connoisseurs of such revels say that Lake of Ozarks Party Cove is the Mecca, and we recommend everyone should make the journey at least once in their lifetime.

In the cove beer, rum, vodka and tequila flow freely. Captain Morgan and Bacardi both deployed promotional boats to the cove on a regular basis, and an Anheuser-Busch boat from St. Louis, sometimes with August A. Busch IV himself on board, has been spotted in the cove many times.  Bathing suits are small and many seem to have fallen to the bottom of the tainted waters of the cove.  Heaven on Earth?  You decide for yourself.

Lake of the Ozarks' Family-Friendly Party Cove?

This week PartyCoveUSA.com received a curious press release from the Lake of the Ozarks' Convention and Vistors Bureau.

The notice -- encouraging travelers to visit the lake's Ha Ha Tonka and Lake of the Ozarks state parks -- seemed innocuous on its surface. But then came the term "family-friendly." As in the statement reading...

"[Both] state parks are like two family-friendly vacation destinations within an exciting, not-to-be-missed family vacation destination!"

So what's the problem? Well, last time we checked one of those state parks plays host each summer weekend to
the raunchiest, flotilla of depravity this side of Sodom and Gomorrah. That's right. We're talking about the lake's infamous Party Cove, which takes place in Anderson Hollow Cove -- an inlet located within the borders of Lake of the Ozarks State Park.

Yesterday we called Pam Jones, one of the PR mavens who put out the press release to ask about the "family-friendly" atmosphere of Party Cove. "Oh, no!" says Jones. "The cove isn't inside the state park. Is it?"

It sure is, Pam. Get a map and see for yourself.  But, hey, what's more family-friendly than boats, booze and public nudity? After all, one could argue that there'd be a lot fewer families without those ingredients.
